It is likely that you noticed the extended Terrablogs outage this past weekend. Intermittent and extended outages have been on the rise due to the ever-increasing traffic and number of blogs on the Terrablogs domains. Thanks to a great deal of late night work by one of the members of our Terrablogs Support team, we were able to restore our server and allow continued access to Terrablogs. We sincerely apologize to all of our users for every moment of downtime that we have.

Please know that we are doing everything in our power to prevent outages; however, the truth is that the only comprehensive solution to this problem is a server that can handle the exponential increase in traffic we're experiencing. We have already implemented a large number of unique strategies to decrease the server load: jumper cables, duct tape, and MacGyver: The Complete 2nd Season training sessions. So we think we've got that covered.

Terrablogs, and the various sites in its family, is a volunteer run and volunteer funded organization. No money donated or received through the little ad revenue Terrablogs receives ever makes it into our pockets: it all goes right back into making Terrablogs (hopefully) the best free community blogging service available. In our previous fundraising requests we were able to raise 1/3 of the funds needed to purchase a new server. That still leaves us with a good ways to go.

Please consider donating.

Sincerely,
The Terrablogs Support Team
